South Jersey Man Pleads Guilty To Weapons Charges: Prosecutor

A 53-year-old man from Atlantic City admitted to weapons offenses, authorities said.

Joaquin DeJesus pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree certain persons not to possess firearms on Tuesday, April 11, in exchange for an eight-year term in New Jersey State Prison, they said.

On Oct. 29, 2021, a SWAT Team executed a court-authorized search warrant at 21 South Mansion Ave. in Atlantic City.

Seized from DeJesus' residence were $1,200 cash, 38 clear plastic baggies containing cocaine, an AM-15 rifle packaged in parts with extended magazines, a loaded Colt .38 Special revolver, a Beretta 9mm model .92 with two magazines, and an MP UZI 9mm with an extended magazine, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

On Aug. 16, 2022, DeJesus was arrested on a warrant and found to be in possession of a handgun, cocaine and $7,505 cash at a Sheraton Hotel in Atlantic City, the prosecutor said.

DeJesus is set to be sentenced on May 23.
